Northern Colorado Backcountry Skiing & Snowboarding
By Andrea.Mannberg
4 years ago, I was stupid enough to trigger, and lucky enough to survive, a 1000 ft wide and 2000 ft long avalanche. Before the accident, I wondered a lot about my own, and others, decision-making in the backcountry. After the accident, I decided to do more than just wonder.

The White Heat Research Project is a collaboration between researchers at UiT - The Arctic University of Norway and Snow and Avalanche Lab at Montana State University. Our aim is to gain knowledge about behavior, decision-making, and risk-exposure in avalanche terrain, and to give that knowledge back to those who ride the backcountry.

To do that, we need your help.

We want to know about how you make decisions, and what motivates you in the backcountry. The data is collected by Montana State University, and your answers will only be used for scientific research by the White Heat research team. We have no commercial interests what so ever.

To participate in our latest survey, please follow this link ... uWMj0wbJHv.
