Ooooooooohhh shit! Its baaaaaaaack! Shit To Ski Off Of I-70 Returns! Happy Winter Solstice everybody.
Ian and I squeezed in a couple laps in between storms yesterday. Coverage in Dry is good. Not excellent. Will get better. Ian got a core shot and I scrapped some rocks. We skinned up to the saddle, just to have our normal adventure. We skied the saddle down to the valley. Super nice and long run. Noticed some old avalanche activity, but we did not experience any cracking or collapsing. We then skinned back up to the bench for our second run. Then, a major decision had to be made......our exit plan back to the vehicles. So, after our second run we decided on skiing out the valley and up, along I-70. We were well prepared with a Banquet Beer and whiskey, of course! In the end it still sucked......maybe quicker......maybe.
Up high on the saddle, blue skies and some wind

A look back, lookers left, mostly out of frame was old avalanche activity

First time out with the Canon 7D with a 18-135 lens. I babied it too much last season, so I finally had to take it out. Great DSLR. The frames per second are ridiculous. 170 pics in this short tour!!! The weight was noticeable, compared to my dinky point and shoot that have been using. Cheers to all Buzzards, Happy Holidays!
