Here we go folks, 2017-2018 season! Got a couple days on BP so far. November 20th and 24th. Still pretty thin in most places. Seems like CP has a deeper snowpack. Good turns were had with minor scratches to the rock board!

I actually got my first two days at St. Mary's on October 2nd and 3rd. Great snow for early October. Here are some pics.

Ok, now for some BP pics. The 20th I did The Roll. Great turns were had between the rocks. The 24th was up high in Current Creek. Way better coverage. No sharks. I think this was due to the October snow that did not melt off. That also has its own disadvantages. .... As far as WP/MJ goes, well, Parkway and Larry Sale is open! Ha!

Mother Nature has blessed the BP area with some nice northwest flow recently. It is finally looking like winter in the Fraser Valley.
But first, lets recap a lil. It has been a somewhat slow start to the season with no major storms yet. NTL and BTL the snowpack was completely facets. This has been transitioning slowing. ATL the winds have been brutal at times forming stiff slabs on leeward slopes and stripping the windward slopes bare. Sounds pretty typical for Colorado.

Yesterday's pics. 4 laps on the East Side and 2 on the West Side. Picking on the low hanging fruit. Best day of the season yet. 12 inches plus on certain aspects. Storm snow was a lil reactive in some spots.

Hope all the Buzzards are getting out and enjoying the snow. Looks like a more active weather pattern will begin. Fingers crossed!

Saturday 1.27.18, Nice little refresher for the BP zone. Average of around 4 inches. Got there early and got out early! Best snow was BTL, where the wind didn't do any damage. Caught one shark NTL. Oh well. Still a goodtime!

Nice sunrise on the drive up.

I'm not all that inclined to start a Loveland Pass thread, I hope no one minds if I drop these shots on the BP thread. I kind of consider these two in the same breath, but certainly one can get 100% more snow from the same storm than the other, but usually the only difference for me is if the LP is open on the drive up...BP is the go-to for storm skiing, while I love LP just after a storm on a sunny day.

This morning was great - really, really fun skiing in 6" of new snow, blown around, but if you know the area, fine untracked indeed.

Saturday's promise of 50 mph winds never did materialize, at least off the north side of BP down in the trees and in the early morning, but the damage had already been done.

5 hikes before 10 am, big holiday tide moving the hitch hikers easily and beautiful sunshine - alright!

The snow was wind hammered where exposed (high up) and transported when out of the trees. 9" seemed like over statement from the th/fri storm, but the trees where untracked and first tracks every run made the effort worthwhile.
