| Hm, only ones I saw in that lot were some CSU group I think. 14 was nasty, I think that kept a lot of people home. |

for realz actually...folks seemed to be staying off the ridge (as you noted earlier, lots of little point releases and some new coverage on top of sluffing in the southern chutes). I ran into 5 different parties and the vibe was mellow and aware (in contrast to the Monkey Junkshow). maybe vis was just too bad when it was puking mid-day |

Was up Wednesday, the weather was fairly nice. The wind did it's usual transformation of the snow above treeline; 2 inch wind crust. Noticed 2 shallow crowns just below the ridge north of N. Diamond. Rode 4 laps in the trees under S. & N. Diamond. A party of five "worked it" on South Diamond, couple laps on Ptarmigan and a few more over by the southern shoulder and Pap. Good work on whoever it was.

| There was a group of snow shoers up at CP on Saturday who ran/slid/fell from the ridge down the wide open slope lookers left of Ptarmigan run. I'm pretty sure we saw them in the parking lot later and they did not appear to have any avi gear. I'd just like to say that there were quite a few people below you, and your actions seemed pretty ignorant given the avalanche danger. Thankfully the slope did not slide. |

I had a similar experience last March however, it was four telewackers. Full brodown, everyone dropped at the same time. It took the group over 15 minutes to get off the pitch. We watched in disbelief as they proceeded to eat lunch prior to getting to a safe spot. Our observations kept us below treeline that day. When I approached the group in the parking lot they informed me that they were safe, and the slope they fell down was "safe" and "never" slides, after all two of them had rented avi gear.
Front Range Tele skiers... Nuff said. |

By the way, would it be possible to get an embed feature for Vimeo content? I see this is available for YouTube but not Vimeo. |
